INTRODUCTION

Ever since its inception the department of Pharmacology has been striving hard to attain greater heights in training medical students about the nuances of the subject. The objective of the department is to impart undergraduate and postgraduate level training. In addition, it also imparts teaching to undergraduates of Para medicals. The department has sufficient number of senior and experienced faculty members with good academic credentials imparting quality teaching and engaged in research activities.

Infrastructures, Facilities & Activities

1)   Infrastructure

1. There are 3 fully equipped student laboratories, one each for clinical pharmacology, experimental pharmacology and pharmacy practical respectively with a separate research laboratory.

2. There is a museum consisting of separate parts, depicting the history of medicine, locally available various traditional medicines of various plant sources, poisons, charts and photographs, etc.

3. Department has a library facility having textbooks and reference books, mainly related to the subjects of Pharmacology and Pharmaceuticals.

4. It has 2 demonstration rooms having capacity for 100 students each and is equipped with modern teaching audio-visual aids.

5. Infrastructure and documentation facilities available for Pharmaco vigilance activities
